The Verve Feelings Vending Machine Promo Print - New Item
The Verve Feelings Vending Machine Promo Print.
Designed at Microdot in 1995, The Verve's American record label Vernon Yard Recordings used the back sleeve image from the 'A Northern Soul' LP to promote the record.
The Vernon Yard Records logo can be seen in the bottom right hand corner of the poster.
The image depicts Verve bassist Simon Jones buying some feelings from a vending machine. Verve art director Brian Cannon got the idea directly from the lyric in the song 'Life's An Ocean' which went 'Imagine the future, woke up with a scream, I was buying some feelings from a vending machine'.
Have you ever noticed the 'products' available to buy from the machine have different human facial expressions - each one a different emotion, even including a 'Feelings Lite' - such was the attention to detail on this Microdot sleeve. See detailed image.
Each print carries the Microdot emboss to the bottom left and is discreetly signed by Verve art director Brian Cannon - see pic.
